Hiking holiday at the Maiskogel

The Maiskogel hiking area offers its visitors some special attractions and is especially popular with families. Many different, well signposted hiking routes, some of which are even accessible with a baby carriage, await you here during your hiking holiday. Another highlight on the Maiskogel is the Maisiflitzer, the first alpine roller coaster in the Salzburger Land: over a length of approx. 1,300 metres, you cross various bridges and waves, jumps and roundabouts. This means pure adrenalin with a driving time of about 12 minutes and a top speed of up to 40 kilometres per hour.

So that after the many movements also the cosiness does not come too briefly in the moving vacation, we recommend to you a stop in one of the huts at the Maiskogel. Here you will be spoiled throughout the day with regional dishes, desserts and culinary highlights - including breathtaking views of the mountain panorama of the Hohe Tauern around Zell am See and Kaprun!

Hiking at the Kitzsteinhorn

Hardly any other hiking area in Austria offers as much variety as the Kitzsteinhorn: easy routes on green plains, challenging tours and rocky climbs in high alpine terrain await you here. Courageous and experienced hikers can even climb their first 3,000 m on the Kitzsteinhorn as part of a guided mountain tour.

But also all those who want to take it a little easier while hiking in Zell am See-Kaprun will get their money's worth. The free family hike gives you unique insights into the diverse flora of the high alpine area on the Kitzsteinhorn, your children can play in the glacier snow and you can enjoy captivating views of the mountains and valleys of the Hohe Tauern.
